At Seaford Tigers Cricket Club, our "One Club" philosophy is central to our identity and community spirit. It reflects our commitment to unity, inclusivity, and a common purpose that spans all aspects of our club.
Our philosophy promotes unity among members of all ages and skill levels, from juniors to seniors, men and women. We emphasise the collective strength of our team, fostering a supportive environment where every player feels valued and encouraged to develop their cricketing abilities.
Inclusivity is a cornerstone of our approach. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences who share our passion for cricket. Whether through our All Abilities team, junior programs, or newly established women's team, we strive to create opportunities for everyone to participate and contribute meaningfully.
At the heart of it all is our shared commitment to sportsmanship, respect, and integrity. We believe in nurturing a positive environment where every member can grow not only as cricketers but also as individuals. Through mentorship, leadership opportunities, and a sense of belonging, we empower our members to make positive contributions both within our club and the broader community.
CHILD SAFETY AND MEMBER PROTECTION POLICY
Cricket Victoria has recently made changes to improve its reporting and complaint procedures related to alleged non-match day misconduct between adults, as well as in relation to children and young people.
From 27 August 2024, key changes include:
• Child safe and Serious Criminal Conduct matters will be referred to CV, who will determine which cricket organisation is best to deal with the matter;
• Member Protection matters will be dealt with by the most appropriate organisation closest to the alleged breach; and
• Additional resolution pathways are available for all matters, including warnings, breach notices and investigations, in addition to tribunals and mediation.
GOOD SPORTS LEVEL 3 ACCREDITED CLUB
The Seaford Tigers Cricket Club is proud to be a Good Sports Level 3 accredited club. Sporting clubs such as ours play a significant role in the community and have a responsibility to our members and their families. We have chosen to join over 6,500 clubs across Australia taking part in the Australian Drug Foundation’s Good Sports program.
Through Good Sports we are committed to managing alcohol responsibly and ensuring smoke free areas, which we believe will help us to provide a healthy, safe and family friendly environment.
Through Good Sports we aim to:
• Eliminate risky drinking in the club through the promotion of a responsible approach to the sale and consumption of alcohol in the club.
• Protect juniors and other young people from the misuse of alcohol in and around the club.
• Provide a responsible smoke-free club environment, through designated smoking areas.
• At Level 3, we are committed to:
• Not selling or consuming alcohol without an appropriate liquor license.
• Training our bar staff in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
• Ensuring smoke free areas are available.
• Organising safe and responsible social events and finding alternate prizes/fundraiser, rather than alcohol.
• Thinking ahead and ensuring players and members get home safely after functions.
• Formalising and implementing our club’s alcohol management policy.
